Draw type: Voluntary Consolation. A Voluntary Consolation (VC) draw, also known as Voluntary sign-up consolation, is a draw in which the losers from the main draw are fed back into another draw against players who lost in earlier rounds of the main draw (single elimination) tournament. Only players that lose their first round match or receive a Bye in the first round and lose their 2nd round match will have the ability to play the consolation. Withdrawals and walkovers are considered a win and therefore a match.
As per Friend at Court : A voluntary Sign-Up Consolation draw comprises all first match losers who choose to play in the draw. Only players who intend to complete the consolation should enter and will be manually added by the tournament director. At least one round of consolations will be played.
Consolation draws will not be published until ALL players 1st-round matches have been completed. The consolation will ONLY include those players that have indicated they want to play. During the registration process, players will need to answer a question, in which they will indicate to the tournament director if they will be playing the consolation or not. This information needs to be collected in advance so we can set aside the appropriate amount of court time. If you indicate you will play the consolation and don’t play, you will be penalized automatic suspension points for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Match format: Two tiebreak sets, 10-point match tiebreak at one set all; ad-scoring.

Questions parents ask
Will my junior get in?
No draw is full yet. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.
What is a Level 5?
A district-level event. Bigger draws, ranking matters for selection, points per win are higher than Level 6.
When do we know?
Selections post after entries close (Thu, Nov 5, 5:59pm EST). Draws usually post the week of the tournament. Text Coach Ace and we will tell you the moment either one lands.
