From the tournament desk
Based out of the Harley School, Empire Tennis has three indoor tennis courts and five outdoor courts. All Orange ball tournaments are played indoors from 5-8pm on Saturday evenings on a regulation 60’ court. All participants will use an Orange dot ball to encourage faster swings without absorbing so much impact of a yellow ball at such a young age.
Draw Type: Round Robin with playoffs
Match format: One short set to 4, deciding game is played at 3 games all
Selection process: 8 players in each division will be selected using first come first serve
Regulation 23’ or 25’ racquets must be used for these USTA sanctioned tournaments. A maximum of eight players will be admitted into the tournament based on a first come first serve policy (no pun intended). All participants will compete in a three-hour round robin; playing everyone once in a short set (First to four games) format. The winner is determined by the player with the most wins. Ties will be split by head to head winners. The Tournament Director will send more information the Wednesday before the tournament. By registering for this event, you understand and acknowledge the risk of injury is inherent in any program involving physical activity. You hereby waive and release any rights and claims for damages against The Harley School, Empire Tennis LLC, Director of Tennis, or any of the professionals, for any and all injuries sustained by the player. You also hereby give your consent to medical emergency or otherwise, inclusive if necessary transportation in order to receive such treatment in the event of injury or any other illness.

Questions parents ask
Will my junior get in?
No draw is full yet. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.
What is a Junior Circuit?
USTA junior tournaments run from Level 7 (local, open to anyone) up to Level 1 (national). Lower number, stronger field, more points.
When do we know?
Selections post after entries close (Tue, Dec 1, 5:59pm EST). Draws usually post the week of the tournament. Text Coach Ace and we will tell you the moment either one lands.
