Players will compete, make new friends and test their games in an energetic tournament environment built around great tennis, outstanding sportsmanship and fun from the first serve to the final trophy.

🎾 TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The RPS October Clash will combine round-robin competition with Championship Playoffs , giving players the greatest possible combination of match play and tournament experience.
Every player will begin in round-robin competition. Players will compete within their assigned groups, with results determining advancement into the Championship Playoffs.
This format provides:
More competitive matches for every player
Greater opportunity to adjust, improve and compete
A fair and balanced opening stage
The excitement of playoff tennis
A true championship conclusion
Final group standings and playoff advancement will be determined under the published tournament procedures, including head-to-head results and applicable tiebreak criteria.
Draw structure may be adjusted according to final division size, withdrawals, weather or other operational considerations.
🔄 ROUND-ROBIN SCORING
All round-robin matches will use abbreviated scoring:
Short sets to four games
Tiebreak played at 4–4
A seven-point match tiebreak if players split sets
Every player competes against the other players assigned to the group
Short-set scoring keeps the schedule moving while allowing players to experience multiple meaningful matches.

Will my junior get in?
No draw is full yet. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.
What is a Level 6?
The entry point of USTA junior tennis. One or two days, local, no ranking needed to enter, and every win earns ranking points. The right first tournament.
When do we know?
Selections post after entries close (Wed, Oct 14, 5:59pm EDT). Draws usually post the week of the tournament. Text Coach Ace and we will tell you the moment either one lands.

🏆 CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYOFF SCORING
Players advancing from round-robin competition will enter the Championship Playoffs.
Championship Playoff matches will use regular scoring:
Short Set scoring continues in QF & SF
Best two out of three sets in final only
Full six-game sets
Standard seven-point tiebreak at 6–6
Ten-point match tiebreak in place of a full third set if players split sets
The Championship Playoffs deliver the atmosphere and pressure of traditional tournament tennis, culminating in the crowning of the RPS October Clash champions.
⏰ ARRIVAL AND CHECK-IN
Players should arrive at least 30 minutes before their first scheduled match .
Upon arrival:
Report to the tournament desk.
Confirm your name and division.
Verify your match time and court assignment.
Be completely dressed and prepared to play.
Remain close enough to hear your match announcement.
Players are responsible for monitoring their scheduled match times and tournament updates. Late arrivals may be subject to applicable lateness penalties.
Please do not wait until your scheduled match time to park, find the tournament desk or begin preparing.

🎾 PRACTICE AND WARM-UP COURTS
Depending on draw size, court availability and weather conditions, practice courts will be available beginning at 7:00 AM on Saturday and Sunday at RPS Academies .
Practice-court availability is not guaranteed. Courts may be reassigned at any time for tournament play.
Players should:
Share courts whenever necessary
Limit warm-ups when other players are waiting
Bring their own practice balls
Follow all instructions from tournament staff
Vacate courts immediately when requested
Players will receive a maximum five-minute warm-up before an official match unless otherwise directed.
🌦 WEATHER AND TOURNAMENT UPDATES
Florida weather can change quickly. The tournament team will monitor conditions throughout the weekend and communicate any necessary adjustments.
Weather may require:
Delayed match times
Revised scoring formats
Court reassignments
Relocation to an alternate site
Rescheduling of unfinished matches
Do not assume your match has been delayed or canceled because it is raining where you are. Players should follow official tournament communications and report as scheduled unless instructed otherwise.
Updates will be published on the official tournament homepage and announced at the tournament desk.
Player safety will always guide weather-related decisions.
☀️ FLORIDA HEAT AND HYDRATION
September conditions in South Florida can be hot and humid. Every player should arrive prepared.
Bring:
A large supply of water
Electrolyte drinks
Nutritious snacks
A towel
Sunscreen
A hat or visor
Extra shirts, socks and grips
Any medically necessary personal supplies
Begin hydrating before tournament day. Waiting until a match begins is too late.
Players should immediately notify an official if they feel dizzy, confused, unusually weak, nauseated or otherwise unwell.

The RPS October Clash is built around competition, respect and character.
Players are expected to:
Call the score clearly
Make fair and prompt line calls
Respect opponents and officials
Control racquet and ball abuse
Compete fully until the final point

Spectators must:
Refrain from coaching

Never communicate strategy during a match

❓ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When will draws be posted?
Draws and opening match times will be published shortly after the registration deadline closes. Players and families should review them as soon as they become available.
What is the tournament format?
Players will begin in round-robin groups using short-set scoring. Qualifying players will then advance to Championship Playoffs which is a knockout format.
How many matches will each player receive?
The round-robin format is specifically designed to provide players with multiple competitive matches. The final number will depend on division size, withdrawals, weather and the published draw.
How is the round-robin stage scored?
Players will compete in short sets to four games, with a tiebreak at 4–4. If players split sets, a seven-point match tiebreak will determine the winner.
How are the Championship Playoffs scored?

Can parents coach during matches?
No. Coaching is prohibited unless specifically permitted under the governing rules and announced by the tournament director. 3 monutes coaching permitted if the players split sets.
What should players bring?
Racquets, water, electrolytes, snacks, sunscreen, towels, extra clothing and everything needed to compete independently.
