ABOUT
• Matches will be played Sunday afternoon (between 12pm & 6pm).
• First 16 players registered will be selected to play in the event. Registration closes on Wednesday, the week of the event.
• Draws/Match schedules will be delivered to the player's USTA account email used to register them into the event. Draws will be emailed out after the registration closes.
• Match times for your child can be found in the Draw/Match Schedule email or by clicking your child's name in the draw on the USTA event website (after the registration closes). Parents are responsible for reviewing the emailed draw & match times/schedule for their child.
AGE REQUIREMENTS TO PARTICIPATE
Players must be a minimum of 9 years old (or have previously earned 1000 Net Generation points in USTA Orange Ball events) to play in Green Ball competition.
• This Event is an opportunity for Green Ball players to acquire Net Generations Playtracker points to advance up in their Youth Progression Pathway as well as valuable match experience playing competitive green ball.

• This tournament follows the 2021 Net Generation Pathway Regulations . Please review before entering the tournament.
FORMAT
• Format will be dependant on the amount of players that enter the event.
• Potential formats that could be used: Compass Draw, Round Robin with Playoffs, or regular Round Robin (group play only)
• All players are gauranteed to play at least 3 non-timed matches.
• Order of finishers, if round robin group format is used, will be determined by win/loss record. Ties in win/loss records will be decided by win percentage: total games won to total games lost, followed by head to head records.
SCORING
• Scoring will be dependant on the playing format used to accomodate the amount of players that enter the event.
• Potential scoring systems that could be used: Non-timed Single set matches to 4 games, no-ad scoring, deciding game at 3-games all. Non-timed single set matches to 6 games, no-ad scoring, deciding game at 5-games all. Fast 4: Two sets to 4 games, no-ad scoring, 7-point match tiebreak at 1-set all (also including deciding game at 3-games all in first or second set).

Will my junior get in?
No draw is full yet. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.
What is a Junior Circuit?
USTA junior tournaments run from Level 7 (local, open to anyone) up to Level 1 (national). Lower number, stronger field, more points.
When do we know?
Selections post after entries close (Thu, Oct 22, 11:59am HST). Draws usually post the week of the tournament. Text Coach Ace and we will tell you the moment either one lands.

• BEFORE THE DEADLINE: A player can withdraw themselves from the tournament prior to the registration close date.
• AFTER THE DEADLINE: If you wish to withdraw after the tournament deadline, please email lokahitennis@gmail.com with your player's NAME and AGE DIVISION. There must be written record that you requested a withdraw from any event. Please note, withdraws after the deadline are not eligible for a refund.
• No refund will be offered upon player selection
PLAYER PROTOCOL DAY(S) OF THE EVENT
• Players must check in at least 15 - 30 miniutes before their match times with Tournament Director (person at the tournament desk), at the event desk before proceeding to their match court.
• Players must be ready to play when checked in. Once both players are checked in, the match will be sent out to an open court.
NOTE: Failure to check-in at the tournament desk by the start time of your first match will result in a defaulted match. Failure to show up to the event (day of your matches) will result in a withdraw from participating & is non-refundable.
• Prepare your own water, ice, food, sunscreen, etc before arriving at the tournament site. There is no concession on site.
• Players are responsible for their own warm up before their scheduled match times. Players will not recieve a 5-minute pre-match warm up like traditional tournaments & leagues unless instructed to do so by the tournament driector &/or umpires.
• Winning player of each game updates their scorecard only.
• After each match finishes, winning player must report their score together to the event score keeper (losing player can still report score to confirm things are correct & accurate before moving on to the next round).

- In the event there are round robin draws, the order of finish will be determined as stated on page 73 of USTA Friend at Court :
- The player who wins the most matches is the winner. If two players are tied, then the winner of their head-to-head match is the winner. If three or more players are tied, the Referee shall use the following steps in the order listed to break all ties. The Referee shall break as many ties as possible using a given step before using the next step. These steps are:
• The head-to-head win-loss record in matches involving just the tied players;
• The player with the highest percentage of sets won of all sets completed;
• The head-to-head win-loss record in matches involving the players who remain tied;
• The player with the highest percentage of games won of all games completed;
• The head-to-head win-loss record in matches involving the players who remain tied;
• The player with the highest percentage of sets won of sets completed among players in the group under consideration;
• The head-to-head win-loss record in matches involving the players who remain tied;
• The player with the highest percentage of games won of games completed among the players under consideration; and
• The head-to-head win-loss record in matches involving the players who remain tied.
If the Referee has applied all the steps and a tie still cannot be broken, the Referee shall use a random drawing among the remaining tied players to determine their order of finish.
SPECTATORS
• All players and spectators must adhere to The Code. Failure to abide by guidelines outlined in Friend At Court will result in your removal from the event.
COACHING:
• Players can receive coaching in between matches (AFTER players report scores to the event scorekeeper).
• There is no coaching allowed while the player is actively playing a match. This includes the time while the point is in play, inbetween points, changeovers, bathroom breaks, etc.
SELECTION AND ALTERNATES POLICY
• Please be aware of the draw size and selection process. If draws are limited, not all players will be selected and those not selected will be placed on an alternate list. Alternates will not be charged an entry fee until they are selected into the tournament.
• Players will receive priority to play via lowest USTA ranking first (lowest ranked alternate receives highest priority to play)
• Alternates will receive an opportunity to play in the event of a player vacancy in the main draw (round robin stage) between the finalizing of the draw and the day before the event.
NOTE: If a player vacancy needs to be filled before the day of the event, the tournament director will contact alternates in the order of their USTA ranking (lowest to highest).
• On the day of the event, alternates (if they wish to still play) must attend the event in person & sign their name on an alternates sign-in sheet at the tournament desk. If players in the main draw aren't able to play, alternates that signup in person will receive highest priority to play (also based on lowest USTA ranking first).
DEFAUL NO-SHOW POLICY
• Players are expected to play all matches including round robin & playoff matches (if they qualify for playoffs). It is mandatory to notify the tournament director in written communication (via email) that a player needs to withdraw. Failure to notify the Tournament Director via email will receive a “Default No-Show” and 5 suspension points per the USTA Suspension Point System (USTA Regulations IV.F.)
MAKEUP DATES & REFUND POLICY
• Inconvenient scheduling or conflicting personal schedules, injury or sickness after the draws are published will not be considered for refunds.
• In the case of inclement weather, every effort will be made to complete the tournament in its entirety by changing the match or scoring format, if necessary.
• If the tournament is shortened, abandoned, or otherwise modified in any way due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, refunds will not be offered.
• If the tournament is canceled entirely prior to the first match being played, only partial refunds may be offered as the tournament has already incurred administrative and organizational expenses.
• The fee for electronic entries is not considered a part of the entry fee and is non-refundable.
Players may not make up matches after the last sanctioned day of the tournament without prior written approval of the Sectional Association. Makeup dates will only be permitted if the original duration of the tournament is less than the maximum number of days allowed for that tournament level per the USTA Regulations.
STANDARDS OF CONDUCT
• Players, persons who appear to be associated with a player (including, but not limited to, parents and coaches), officials, and organizers of any tournament are under a duty to encourage and maintain high standards of proper conduct, fair play, and good sportsmanship. They are under an obligation to avoid acts that may be considered detrimental to the game of tennis. Detrimental acts include, but are not limited to, the acts set forth in USTA Regulation IV.C (Standards of Conduct). Friend at Court

DRESS CODE POLICY
- The USTA Hawaii Pacific Section Staff and all officials of this event would like to inform the players of our expectations of proper attire while competing in this tournament:
• ALL PLAYERS: No reference to drugs, violence, alcohol, or foul language may be depicted on player attire.
• GIRLS: No sports bras or compression garments of any kind are to be worn alone; midriff must be covered when arms are at rest, and spandex shorts or capris must be covered by additional shorts or skirt.
• BOYS: No cut off t-shirts, or cut off shorts. Sleeveless tennis shirts may be worn.

DISCLAIMERS
• The tournament director reserves the right to delete or combine events depending upon the size of draws without prior notification.
• The tournament director reserves the right to shorten the format if scheduling conflicts or time constraints that cause significant delays occur.
• All match scores are final once you leave the tournament venue.
• Any situations not mentioned in the tournament policy will be handled at the discretion of the tournament director.
