Welcome to our 4th L5 Southern Utah Team Candy Cup!

Selection will be based on the National Standing Lists. Teams will be waterfalled according to WTN. The ranking points are designated on page 4 for this event of the USTA points table under the TEAM TOURNAMENT section in yellow.

USTA Ranking Points Table

The St. George Team is a round-robin team event. There are five teams of 6 per division, with three boys and three girls on each team. A total of 15 boys and 15 girls will be selected for each division; 12's, 14's, 16's, 18's. Teams will be formed by a waterfall method to help ensure an equal distribution of players. Each player will play a singles matches and a doubles match per team match, totaling 4 singles matches and 4 doubles matches over the weekend. A voluntary team practice will be held the morning of the tournament. Although team coaches are not a part of this event, the #1 boy and girl on each team will act as the team captains.

Match Formats:

All players will get 4 singles matches, and 4 doubles matches. With 5 teams, we have 5 rounds of play to get through. The shortened formats will keep the tournament on schedule and allow us to fit all matches and finish hopefullly by 3:00 pm Sunday evening. Only two of the facilities have lights, so doubles are scheduled at those facilities so we can continue to play.

Singles: 2/3 sets with a 10 pt tie break NO AD

Doubles: A set to 6 with a 7 pt tiebreak at 5 all. (Some divisions will play No AD)

Will my junior get in?

No draw is full yet. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.

What is a Level 5?

A district-level event. Bigger draws, ranking matters for selection, points per win are higher than Level 6.

When do we know?

Selections post after entries close (Fri, Oct 23, 3:59pm MDT). Draws usually post the week of the tournament. Text Coach Ace and we will tell you the moment either one lands.
