The Dominant Duo format is a fun way to compete with your friends and play both singles AND doubles . Players will get a lot of matches (4 singles and 4 doubles) plus all the win points associated with each round. This is a two day tounament depending on how many teams enter and weather. 8-16 teams competing in a compass with 4 matches in a compass draw or round robin. Singles will play short-sets (tie-breaker for the 3rd set). Doubles will play 1 single set. NoAD
Plan for 2 rounds Saturday and 2 rounds Sunday.
Here is how Dominant Duo tennis works: two players enter the tournament together, with teams selected based on their combined rankings. Team matches are played, consisting of a doubles match against the opposing team, as well as a singles match between the number one players and number two players from each team. Whichever team wins two or more of the match-ups wins the match. That team then moves forward in the draw.
Please indicate a partner when registering for this event. Any player unpaired at the time of registration closing will be automatically paired with another player by ranking before player selections are completed.

Seeding -teams will be grouped and seeded by average WTN

If one accepted player in a pairing must withdraw, and the event has registered teams on the alternate list, then an alternate team shall be placed in the draw to replace the withdrawing team. If there are no registered alternate teams, the remaining partner may secure an alternate partner as long as the new partner does not impact seeding for the event and the alternate is secured in a timely manner.

Questions parents ask
Will my junior get in?
No draw is full yet. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.
What is a Level 6?
The entry point of USTA junior tennis. One or two days, local, no ranking needed to enter, and every win earns ranking points. The right first tournament.
When do we know?
Selections post after entries close (Thu, Oct 8, 4:59pm CDT). Draws usually post the week of the tournament. Text Coach Ace and we will tell you the moment either one lands.
