Midwest Team Cup- Boys and Girls 16s

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

A team match will consist of 3 boys singles, 3 girls singles, 1 boys doubles, 1 girls doubles, and 2 mixed doubles. All lines will be worth 1 point. In the event of a tie, coaches will pick one girl and one boy to play a mixed doubles 10pt tiebreak.

All players will play 3 singles matches (a girl and a boy sit out of singles for each round) and 4 total doubles matches. Lineups will be determined by NSL (based on May 27 release) for singles. Coaches will determine doubles lineups.

The lineup for singles will be "fixed" - #1 sits match 1, #2 sits match 2, #3 sits match 3, #4 sits match 4.

WITHDRAWALS AND TEAM REPLACEMENT

Withdrawals after Team Release (6/7), but prior to Start of Play: Teams will be released on June 7th (players are waterfalled on to teams based on the June 2 NSL release - the same NSL release that was used for Selections). If a player withdraws after teams are released, the #1 alternate will be placed directly on that team (players will not be shifted inbetween teams).

Withdrawals after Start of Play: If a player withdraws after play starts, that player will be marked as a withdrawal for any of their remaining singles matches (the player that "sits" for those rounds cannot play for that player - no exceptions). For doubles, the coach will form doubles teams to help evenly distribute doubles play on their team (this will be monitored by the TD and Referee to ensure compliance). One doubles match each round will need to be marked as a withdrawal.

SCORING

All singles matches will be best 2 out of 3 sets with a 10pt match tiebreak in lieu of the 3rd set. All doubles matches will be a 6 game pro-set with a set tiebreak at 6-6. All matches are no-ad.

TOURNAMENT FEES

1) If your credit card has been declined, the tournament director will be reaching out to you, and they will have the option to withdraw you from the competitors' list if you do not respond and communicate with them. 2) No refunds after player selection.

WRITTEN NOTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR WITHDRAWS

After play starts, any player coded as "Withdrawal" or "Walkover" on the draw sheet must submit written verification (email) regarding the reason for withdrawal. The player should provide a detailed description of the reason for withdrawal, and if the reason is not for INJURY, ILLNESS, PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCE (Referee shall determine validity and may reach out for additional details), or previously authorized entry into another tournament, the player is subject to the Suspension Point System ( Friend at Court pp. 114-119 ). Written verifications should be emailed to the Tournament Director and/or Referee no later than the last day of the tournament to be considered valid.

The tournament will be held outdoors , but will move indoors in the event of rain .

If needed, the indoor portion of the event will take place at Five Seasons Family Sports Club , which has 8 courts available . *** Potential rain could cause a change to the singles format ( Fast 4 format) if persistant

For outdoor play, we will play at two sites: Covington Catholic High School in Park Hills, Kentucky , along with a second outdoor site at Northern Kentucky University

STRINGING

Onsite stringer is available. Cost is the cost of string plus the stringing fee of $25 per racquet. We carry Yonex strongs only, but can string other brands as well if you bring your own.
