L6 Tournament

• Skill Level: Intermediate

• Eligibility - This event will be open to all junior members and residents of all Sections. A player who is still eligible for the 8-and-under or 10-and-under divisions becomes eligible for older divisions of sanctioned USTA Missouri Valley tournaments only by first completing the USTA Net Generation Pathway.

• Point Level - National Level 6

• Draw Size - The singles draw is limited to 16 players.

• Player Selection - After the entry deadline has passed, the Tournament Director will select the top 16 players in each division of of the most recent National Standings List.

• The Tournament Director will have an Alternate List for any players not selected for the top 16.

• Match Formats • With Ad Scoring

• Main draw - Best of three tiebreak sets with Match Tiebreak in lieu of 3rd set

• Consolation - 8 game pro-set, tiebreak at 8 games all

• Draw Types • 0-2 Draw Cancelled

• 3-5 One Round Robin Bracket

• 6-12 Feed in championships through Quarters with a 3rd/4th playoff

• 13-16 Feed-in Championship through the Quarters with a 3rd/4th playoff. Consolation final be not be played.

• L6 Tournaments have a maximum of 4 matches per player.

All matches will be at the Grand Island Tennis Center.

Tips for the Tournament:

- Check this home page (look under draws and view matches) on Thursday by 5:00pm. Also look for an email from the tournament director.

- Always arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the first match time. Often there will be a short meeting with helpful information.

- The first time a player plays there will be a 5 minute warmup, after that for each match there will not be a warmup.

No draw is full yet. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.

What is a Level 6?

The entry point of USTA junior tennis. One or two days, local, no ranking needed to enter, and every win earns ranking points. The right first tournament.

When do we know?
