From the tournament desk

Tournament Overview: This is a one-day “Open” Level 7 Tournament that offers intermediate competition. It is intended for players who are beginning play in ranked tournaments, and/or who desire the convenience of a one-day event. Players without rankings are selected first, and then the remainder of players are selected from the “bottom up” based on ranking. Players that have been experiencing success in Level 7s and/or Level 6s may not be selected based on this process. Residency in NorCal is NOT required; players from any Sectional Association may enter this tournament.

Singles Draw Size: The singles draw size is limited to 8 players; however, the Tournament. Committee reserves the right to increase this number of some of the events in this Tournament receive fewer than the draw size and/or permission is received from USTA NorCal to do so. An event must have at least four entries to be played.

Singles Draw Format: Each event will be round robins of either 4 or more players and each player will play a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 4 singles matches (withdrawals and defaults count as a match) - the number of matches will be set when the number of entries in a division is known.

Singles Match Format: All singles matches will be one 6-game set with a 7-point Set Tiebreak at 6 games all.

Selection for Singles Draw: All players without a standing will be selected first and then players will be selected from the bottom up of the most recently published National Standings List of the division. All players not selected will be placed on an Alternate List that is ordered using the same list used to select the players. Late entries will be ordered based on the time they are received. Late entries received at the same time will be ordered by lot.

The director's own notes, as published on USTA. Ace reads these too.
