To promote a more enjoyable and fair experience for all, USTA NorCal has implemented a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for unsportsmanlike conduct by players and spectators. This policy will be diligently and strictly enforced.
Misconduct by players is governed by the Point Penalty System that assesses point, game and default penalties for misconduct. This ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY is official notice of a warning that is typically given before penalties are assessed. Players will no longer be given warnings, but will be assessed penalties under the Point Penalty System on the first occurrence of misconduct.

Scoring Format
Main Draw: Two tiebreak sets, 10-point match tiebreak at one set all (Singles)
Consolation Draw: Two Short sets to 4, 7-point match tiebreak at one set all, If a short set goes to 4 games all then a 7-point tiebreak is played to determine the winner of the set. (Also Doubles Scoring Format)
3rd/4th playoff: Two tiebreak sets, 10-point match tiebreak at one set all (Singles)
Method of Player Selection
Singles Events: Selection will be top down in the order their names appear on the most recently published National Standings List of the division.
Seeding
Singles Events: Players will be seeded for singles events using the most recently published National Standings List of the division, in the order in which their names appear on the list. Seeds 1-4 will be seeded numerically. Seeds 5-8 will be seeded alphabetically as the #5 seed. Seeds 9-16 will be seeded alphabetically as the #9 seed.
Awards
In draws of 8 players, awards will go to the 1st and 2nd place finishers. In draws of 16 players, awards will go to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th place finishers and the consolation winner.

*** Tournament Desk - Check In ***
Please check in at the tournament desk at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled match time. If you are late, regardless if a court is available, you will be penalized one game for each 5 minutes you are late up to 3 games or fifteen minutes, after which you will be defaulted. Exceptions are at the discretion of the referee

Parking is Available for Free.
Please know that there is sometimes a large event in the nearby swimming pool. Please expect the parking lot to be in much use so allocate some time so find adequate parking and to not be late for your matches.
*** How to Find your Match Date/Time & Location ***
The following instructions are to be used after the posting of the draws on Wednesday.
YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE AN EMAIL WITH YOUR MATCH TIME AND LOCATION SO PLEASE FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW.
On the right of the 'Important Information' button there is a new 'draws' button.
Click on it and select the event that a player is registered to.
On the left of each draw, find the player's name and follow the line to the right.
That will show you the first match, with a date/time and the abbreviated site name (e.g. PHS is Pioneer High School and LHS is Lincoln High School)
Come 15 minutes before your scheduled match time.
After your match, report your match result (win or lose) and ask for your next match time.
*** Concurrent Tournament Rule ***
When entries close, a player shall not be entered in two or more sanctioned tournaments if any parts of the tournaments overlap, unless each Tournament Committee involved understands the situation and concurs in writing. If entries for the overlapping tournaments close on different dates, approval must be received from all Tournament Committees no later than the entry closing date that occurs last. Players who enter a tournament and play it to completion, may then enter another tournament with overlapping dates without permission. A player who is on the alternate list in one tournament is not considered in violation of the Concurrent Tournament Rule if they enter another concurrent tournament.
Players who violate the Concurrent Tournament Rule shall forfeit all ranking points earned at the concurrent tournaments.

All draws are subject to change. Please recheck draws for changes in time and or withdrawals. All changes made within 24 hrs of tournament start will be phoned to the affected parties. Make sure to have all contact info with the USTA. Doubles times may change if you were scheduled to play a team with only one player. Remember that both players on a team must sign up for doubles before the deadline.
