Will my junior get in?

The ID is on your junior's USTA account. We look up their published standing, read it against this tournament's entry count and its selection rule, and tell you where that leaves them. We never ask for a name and USTA never sends us one.

From the tournament desk

Sleepy Hollow Swim & Tennis Club hosts a one-day USTA Junior Circuit event on Saturday, October 17, 2026 in Orinda, CA. Junior Circuit is entry-level, recreational competition — it is the ideal first tournament for players who have been developing in lessons or clinics and are ready to try match play. Results are NOT ranked and do not affect any standings list, so there is no pressure and no prior tournament experience required.

Every player is guaranteed a minimum of 3 matches in a round-robin format. Matches are played with the age-appropriate ball on the age-appropriate court size, following USTA youth progression standards.

Divisions offered:

• 8 & Under Singles — Orange Ball (coed)

• 10 & Under Singles — Orange Ball (coed)

• 10 & Under Singles — Green Ball (coed)

• Girls' 12 & Under Singles

Check-in begins at 8:30 AM. Play begins at 9:00 AM. The event is expected to conclude by approximately 1:30 PM. A schedule confirming your child's start time will be emailed the evening before.

Ball type by division: Orange ball on a 60-foot court for 8 & Under and 10 & Under Orange; Green ball on a full court for 10 & Under Green and 12 & Under. Players should bring their own racquet, water, and sunscreen. Balls are provided.

Awards are presented to the winners of each bracket.

Entry is open to all junior players; USTA membership is required to compete (a free Youth Membership can be created at usta.com during registration). Residency in NorCal is not required — players from any section are welcome.

Entry fee: $52.33 per player. This is a total fee; there are no additional per-match or facility charges.

Entry deadline: Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at 11:59 PM. Enter online through this page.

Draw limit: 8 players per division. If a division receives more entries than the draw limit, players are accepted in the order their entries were received, and remaining players are placed on an alternate list in that same order. A division must receive at least 4 entries to be played; if a division does not fill, entrants will be offered a place in the nearest appropriate division or a full refund, their choice.

Players may enter only ONE division of this event.

Draws and start times are published on this page by 6:00 PM on Friday, October 16.

Withdrawals: email the Tournament Director. Withdrawals received before the entry deadline receive a full refund. After the deadline, refunds are issued only for injury or illness. No-shows are not refunded.

Inclement weather: this is an outdoor facility. If play is postponed or cancelled for weather, entrants are notified by email as early as possible and receive a full refund if the event cannot be played. Please check this page for updates on the morning of the event.

Questions parents ask

Will my junior get in?

No draw is full yet. Selection runs off the ranking list when entries close, and it runs differently at different levels, so whether a junior gets in depends on where they sit in this field. Add their USTA ID and we will tell you.

What is a Junior Circuit?

USTA junior tournaments run from Level 7 (local, open to anyone) up to Level 1 (national). Lower number, stronger field, more points.

When do we know?

Selections post after entries close (Wed, Oct 14, 2:59pm PDT). Draws usually post the week of the tournament. Text Coach Ace and we will tell you the moment either one lands.
