Electronic Line Calling:
Electronic Line Calling (ELC) will be available for this tournament. The ELC installation was made possible through the generous funding and support of USTA Northern . Their investment in innovation is helping elevate the tennis experience for everyone in the Northern Section, without resulting in cost increases. We are extremely grateful for their partnership.
Tournament Format
Dominant Duo: 2-person teams compete in a duel match against another 2-person team in a best-of-3 points match (1 doubles and 2 singles). Doubles will be played first and are worth 1 team point. 2 singles matches are to follow, with the top-ranked players of each team paired off to play each other. Each singles match is worth 1 point. The team winning 2 out of 3 points advances in the main draw. Reminder that this tournament starts from the Quarterfinals and players are players are guaranteed only 2 matches. There will be a playoff for 3rd place.
Rest Periods
Given the team format, we are hoping to keep things moving along for all participants. The rest period between doubles to singles might be as low as 10 minutes. Please plan your match routines accordingly to help the tournament progress for all players!
Reasonable requests for more time will be granted. Please inquire with the tournament desk as the weekend progresses.
MATCH PLAY
Matches are planned to start at 4 pm on Friday, October 16th, and will be played indoors. However, some age groups might start on Saturday morning, depending on the total number of registrations.
PLAYER SELECTION
Selection Information - Please Read: Entries are capped at 8 teams per age division. Priority in the event will be given to players who register with a partner (we will look at your combined ranking). If there is still available space after teams have been selected, we will go off the most recent NSL list for players who did not designate a partner.
USTA Northern Withdrawal/Defaults Policy

Effective immediately, any withdrawals that happen after entries close but before start of play will be assessed 4 suspension points regardless of reason. Any defaults that occur after play has begun will be assessed 5 suspension points regardless of reason. These suspension points may be appealed by the player within one week (by the following Sunday at 11:59 pm) of withdrawal/default when injury, illness, or personal circumstance warrants consideration. Appeal requests submitted within one week (by the following Sunday at 11:59 pm) of the withdrawal/default will be considered by a USTA Northern Appeals Committee only when…

Questions parents ask
Will my junior get in?
No draw is full yet. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.
What is a Level 4?
USTA junior tournaments run from Level 7 (local, open to anyone) up to Level 1 (national). Lower number, stronger field, more points.
When do we know?
Selections post after entries close (Wed, Oct 7, 4:59pm CDT). Draws usually post the week of the tournament. Text Coach Ace and we will tell you the moment either one lands.
