TOURNAMENT DATES: June 6-7, 12-14 . Matches will start as early as 8AM on all days. If you have finals or graduation on Friday, June 12th and need a time accommodation, please email lakewood10s@gmail.com AFTER you make it past the first weekend but BEFORE 9PM on Monday, June 8th. Please note that you may be asked to provide verification of the final or graduation. We will make an attempt to accommodate your request, however it is NOT guaranteed. Unfortunately, we will be unable to accommodate any time requests for voluntary consolation matches.
UNPAID ENTRY FEES
If a player's payment is declined, they will have 24 hrs from the time selection is made to pay their entry fee. After that, the player will be removed from the tournament and/ or be replaced by an alternate, if one is available.
PHOTOGRAPHY
We will have a photographer present each day of Sectionals. However, due to the size of the event, multiple competition sites, and overlapping match times, it will not be possible to capture every player.

Effective June 7, 2025 , USTA Southern California will enforce a Zero Tolerance Policy for all spectator conduct at junior tournaments. This includes behavior that is argumentative, aggressive, or disruptive toward officials, players, or other spectators.
Violations may result in immediate removal from the event, with no right to appeal. Additionally, players may receive suspension points or Code Violations if a connected spectator engages in unsportsmanlike conduct.
We are committed to fostering a safe, fair, and respectful environment at every tournament. Please review the attached flyer to ensure you are familiar with these important changes.
2026 USTA SOCAL PRO SERIES WILD CARDS
Players from the 18s and 16s will have an incredible opportunity to earn a wild card to the USTA SoCal Pro Series (see below). A Tournament Committee will choose which tournament the player will receive their wildcard. The USTA SoCal staff and Pro Series Tournament Committee will award wildcards after reviewing all players’ sportsmanship and suspension points. A player with poor sportsmanship or excessive suspension points may not be awarded wildcards. The committee reserves the right to rescind wild cards for cogent reasons.

Will my junior get in?
Boys' Singles 12 & under, Boys' Singles 14 & under, Boys' Singles 16 & under, Boys' Singles 18 & under, Girls' Singles 14 & under, Girls' Singles 16 & under are full; the rest have room. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.
What is a Level 3?
USTA junior tournaments run from Level 7 (local, open to anyone) up to Level 1 (national). Lower number, stronger field, more points.
Can we enter two divisions?
One event per player at this tournament. Pick the age group that matches your junior's birth year, or the one up if they are ready for it.
When do we know?
Selections post after entries close (Fri, May 29, 2:59pm PDT). Draws usually post the week of the tournament. Text Coach Ace and we will tell you the moment either one lands.

Each section will be allowed to use 2 quota spots as “wildcards” for the National Championships. The wild card will be awarded in the division where the player earned it. ***The USTA SoCal Junior Competition Committee reserves the right to change these procedures at any time for cogent reasons.
Hard Courts (7/16/26 entry deadline; Quota List Pub. Date: 7/15/26)
Winner of Junior Sectionals (If winner gets in on their own through Direct Acceptance List or section quota, then WC will go to the 3rd place finisher, then 4th. After that, it’ll revert to staff/committee WC**). See additional criteria below.

NOTE: Players who withdraw from the 3/4 playoff match will be INELIGIBLE to receive a quota wild card.
USTA SoCal Quota Wild Card Criteria
To receive any quota wild card, players must not have 5 or more suspension points on their record due to conduct in the last 12 months at the time wild cards are awarded. (i.e. code violations, unsportsmanlike conduct, refusal to play, etc.). Wild cards will be awarded a few days before the quota publication date, therefore, players’ suspension points will be reviewed at that time. Players with excessive grievances filed against them will also be ineligible to receive a section quota wild card.
**Staff/committee wild cards will be determined using the pool of players who enter at least 3 days before the entry deadline. There will be no application process. They will use the all factors method which could include any of the following criteria as well as those not listed below:
Computerized tennis rating (i.e. WTN, UTR)
NSL
Sportsmanship
USTA Tournament results
Support of USTA SoCal programs and team events (Maze Cup, Player Development Camps, Youth Tennis Council, etc.)
Plays tournaments to completion, including backdraws
They may also choose to revert back to the quota list if they wish not to use the wild card.
DRAW SIZE: Draws are limited to 64 players (no qualifying).
INTENDED SCHEDULE OF PLAY (This could change based on many factors such as draw size, court availability, etc.)
Saturday & Sunday, June6-7: play through the Round of 16 (R64, R32, R16)
• Friday, June 12: All quarterfinal matches and start of voluntary consolation matches. (Consolation matches will be played in the morning/mid-afternoon.) Please note that it's possible that some R16 matches may be played on this day.
• Saturday, June 13: All semifinal matches and voluntary consolation matches
• Sunday, June 14: All Finals, 3/4 playoffs, and voluntary consolation matches
DRAW FORMAT: Voluntary consolation will be offered to first match losers. VC will start as early as Friday, June 12th. If you cannot play or intend to play in another tournament the weekend of June 13-14, please do not enter the consolation as this will lead to double entry penalties.
Voluntary Consolation only applies to the following:
• Players that lose in the first round of the main draw
• Players who have advanced to the second round of the main draw via bye then lose in the second round
• Players who have advanced to the third round of the main draw via double-bye then lose in the third round.
• IMPORTANT ! Players who advance to the second round of the main draw via walkover/ withdrawal/ default/ retirement that lose in the second round of the main draw CANNOT be added to the voluntary consolation draw!
SELECTION PROCESS: Selection process will be based on NSL at the time selection is made. Up to 4 wild cards may be awarded per draw, to be determined by the SCTA staff.
SEEDING: This tournament will utilize the June 3rd World Tennis Number (WTN) for seeding purposes. Ties in WTN are automatically broken by the program (the program recognizes WTN by the hundredth, thousandth, etc.)
MATCH FORMATS (BG14-18)
R64, R32, R16: Two out of three sets with a 10 point match tiebreak in lieu of a third set with a 3 minute break for coaching between the second set and the match tiebreak, regular scoring.
• Quarterfinals, Semifinals, 3/4 Playoffs, Finals: Best two out of three tiebreak sets (full third set) with a 10-minute rest period with coaching between the second and third set, regular scoring.
• All Consolation Matches: Two out of three sets with a 10 point match tiebreak in lieu of a third set with a 3 minute break for coaching between the second set and the match tiebreak, NO-AD scoring.
MATCH FORMATS (BG12)
• All Matches (Main Draw & Consolation): Two out of three sets with a 10 point match tiebreak in lieu of a third set with a 3 minute break for coaching between the second set and the match tiebreak. Regular scoring for all main draw matches (including 3/4 playoffs); NO-AD scoring for all consolation matches.
**Draws and match formats may be altered for cogent reason.
VOLUNTARY CONSOLATION SIGN-UP DEADLINE
The deadline to enter in the Voluntary Consolation (VC) is Tuesday, June 9th at 5PM . Please email Eric at lakewood10s@gmail.com if you would like to enter. You MUST email Eric in order to be placed into the consolation draw. Consolation will start as early as Friday, June 12th (no time requests). Please do not enter if you do not intend to play.
Please read the important information further down the page regarding VC regulations. IMPORTANT: IF YOU HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED INTO ANY TOURNAMENT THE WEEKEND OF JUNE 13th, YOU ARE INELIGIBLE FOR THE VOLUNTARY CONSOLATION. Players who wish to show up as an on-site alternate need to come to the location that your division is being played 1/2 hour before the first singles match starts in your division (Example: If the first match starts at 9 am, then on-site alternates need to sign in by 8:30 am) We will take players inthe order of the alternate list on the homepage.
