First round consolation: Thank you to all of the players who supported playing in the consolation draws yesterday. Since we only have 3 days to complete this tournament, the consolation draw is set with the players who started play yesterday with the first round of this draw. No more players will feed into the consolation draw from Sunday's play.
On-Site Alternate information: This tournament offers this opportunity on the first day. You can show up at the following site for your age division at the specified time to sign-in. The established order of the Alternate List will still be enforced for those who sign-in. Marina High School: Boys and Girls 12s, sign-in no later than 7:45 am and Girls 14s, no later than 10:00 am; Lakewood Tennis Center: Boys 14s, no later than 7:45 am, Girls 18s, no later than 10:30 am and Boys 18s, no later than 12:30 pm; El Dorado Park Tennis Canter: Girls 16s, no later than 7:45 am and Boys 16s, no later than 12:30 pm.

Player withdrawals and alternates: As players withdraw from the tournament, alternates will be called upon to fill the vacated spot in the draw. Refunds (minus admin fees) will be given to any main draw player who withdraws on or before 8 am Sunday 1/11. On-site alternates will happen the first day of the tournament - more information regarding this process will be forthcoming.

Format: All main draw matches will be 2 tiebreak sets, regular scoring, with a 10 pt. match tiebreak at 1 set all (up until the finals where the format will be best 2 of 3 tiebreak sets - except in the 12s age division.) All consolation matches will be 2 tiebreaks, no-ad scoring, with a 10 pt. match tiebreak for all age divisions throughout the consolation draw.
Mandatory first round consolation: Players who lose their first round match will feed into the consolation draw. The consolation draw will start on the first day of the tournament. Through your registration and acceptance into this tournament, you agree to play in the consolation draw.

This tournament is named after Henry Talbert, Jr, who had a 39 year career with the USTA, with the last 17 years being the Executive Director of USTA Southern California (until his retirement in 2013.) I am involved with this tournament because of Henry. He was a leader, gentleman and all-around great person, and I believe that it is important that you know a little bit about Henry as you choose to participate in this tournament.

Will my junior get in?
Boys' Singles 12 & under, Boys' Singles 14 & under, Boys' Singles 16 & under, Boys' Singles 18 & under, Girls' Singles 12 & under, Girls' Singles 14 & under, Girls' Singles 16 & under, Girls' Singles 18 & under are full; the rest have room. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.
What is a Level 3?
USTA junior tournaments run from Level 7 (local, open to anyone) up to Level 1 (national). Lower number, stronger field, more points.
Can we enter two divisions?
