CITIZENSHIP & RESIDENCY FOR L3 CLOSED AND L4 CLOSED TOURNAMENTS
**For junior players, citizenship eligibility or alien status is required for participation in the following events: L3 CLOSED AND L4 CLOSED Tournaments. Residency declaration and citizenship eligibility are requirements for registering in closed USTA tournaments. Declaring residency and citizenship shall determine the players who may play in Closed Sectional and District Tournaments, the players who may appear on a Sectional Quota List, and the players who may be selected to represent a Sectional Association or District Association in a team competition. Players must declare their residency/citizenship once per year before registering for a L3 Closed and L4 Closed Tournament. **Important Update** - On February 5, 2025, the USTA Southern California Junior Competition Committee voted and unanimously approved that: If you are in a two weekend tournament and withdraw (for any reason) from either Singles and/or Doubles (regardless of which partner withdraws) once the draw is PUBLISHED, you CANNOT enter a different tournament on EITHER weekend (applies to SoCal Tournaments only). Doing so is considered a double entry/ improper withdrawal and it will result in 4 suspension points and you will not be allowed to play in either tournament. A detailed explanation for the withdrawal must be submitted by email to the tournament director.

Will my junior get in?
Boys' Singles 14 & under, Boys' Singles 16 & under, Girls' Singles 14 & under, Girls' Singles 16 & under are full; the rest have room. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.
What is a Level 4?
USTA junior tournaments run from Level 7 (local, open to anyone) up to Level 1 (national). Lower number, stronger field, more points.
When do we know?
