Hello everyone, thank you for signing up for the Badon Tennis Academy Junior Circuit tournament. We will be using the Penn championship ball and Penn Control Green Dot Ball and Penn Orange Ball.
The John Muir High tennis courts are located at the back of the school on Casitas, south of Woodbury Road. If needed we will use a second site: Loma Alta Park 3330 N. Lincoln Ave. Altadena, Ca 91001

The USTA Southern California 10U Green Ball Grand Prix Series is for players residing in Southern California. Top point earners from each season will be invited to a two-day Early Development Camp, focusing on fundamentals and athletic development for 10U players.
All players will be part of the USTA Net Generation Pathway and earn Net Generation PlayTracker points. USTA Junior Circuits do not contribute to National rankings.

Will my junior get in?
No draw is full yet. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.
What is a Junior Circuit?
USTA junior tournaments run from Level 7 (local, open to anyone) up to Level 1 (national). Lower number, stronger field, more points.
When do we know?
Selections post after entries close (Tue, Sep 8, 2:59pm PDT). Draws usually post the week of the tournament. Text Coach Ace and we will tell you the moment either one lands.

Be at least 7 years old and have successfully been assessed by a Safe Play approved USPTA or PTR* certified coach who has completed the Net Generation assessment training. Learn how to use the assessment tool here .

Early Development Camp Selection:
12 girls and 12 boys will be invited to each Early Development Camp, based on their point standings in the All-Star Series race.
No wildcards will be issued.
In the case of a tie, the WTN (World Tennis Number) will be used as a tiebreaker.

For every match won, player receives 8 points (max 4 matches)
In the event there are round robin draws, the order of finish will be determined as stated on page 73 of USTA Friend at Court :
The player who wins the most matches is the winner. If two players are tied, then the winner of their head-to-head match is the winner. If three or more players are tied, the Referee shall use the following steps in the order listed to break all ties. The Referee shall break as many ties as possible using a given step before using the next step. These steps are:
The head-to-head win-loss record in matches involving just the tied players;
The player with the highest percentage of sets won of all sets completed;
The head-to-head win-loss record in matches involving the players who remain tied;
The player with the highest percentage of games won of all games completed;
The head-to-head win-loss record in matches involving the players who remain tied;
The player with the highest percentage of sets won of sets completed among players in the group under consideration;
The head-to-head win-loss record in matches involving the players who remain tied;
The player with the highest percentage of games won of games completed among the players under consideration; and
The head-to-head win-loss record in matches involving the players who remain tied.
If the Referee has applied all the steps and a tie still cannot be broken, the Referee shall use a random drawing among the remaining tied players to determine their order of finish.
WITHDRAWALS
If there is a withdrawal after the draw has been published, the spot will be replaced by the next alternate, assuming that the alternate does not invalidate the seeds or the draw If there is no alternate, the match will be coded as a walkover.
SELECTION AND ALTERNATE INFORMATION
Please be aware of the draw size and selection process. If draws are limited, not all players will be selected and those not selected will be placed on an alternate list. Alternates will not be charged an entry fee until they are selected into the tournament.
WILD CARD PROCESS
All tournaments are entitled to award wild cards based on their draw size but are not required to. If a tournament wishes to award them, the maximum number of wild cards that can be awarded are as follows: 4 in a draw of 64 or higher; 2 in a draw of 32; 1 in a draw of 16 or fewer.
DOUBLE ENTRIES: Players are not permitted to enter two tournaments at the same time. After a player has been eliminated from a tournament whose schedule of play partially overlaps with that of a second tournament, the player may enter the second tournament. If you are an alternate for another tournament, you MUST remove yourself from that alternate list once you are accepted into another tournament. Players who violate this rule will be disqualified from both tournaments and will receive four (4) suspension points.
USTA Junior Circuit events utilize a one day non-elimination round-robin draw format for players of all ages to gain match play experience in a tournament setting with a focus on individual results. This experience will encourage players of all ages to develop their skills through level-based play and demonstrate good sportsmanship. 10U Players are eligible to enter the USTA Junior Circuit event in the ball color (Orange or Green) they have achieved or lower as determined by the Net Generation PlayTracker.
Players 7 and 8 years old that reach 1,000 play points in orange ball are eligible for green ball. A coach assessment is also available for players 7 or 8 years old who have the skills to advance to green ball early. The assessment must be completed by a player’s primary Safe Play approved certified coach using the Net Generation mobile app. Learn how to use the assessment tool here . 10U players in green ball will be required to meet 1500 points on the Net Generation PlayTracker in order to play in yellow ball 12U + Junior Circuits or USTA Tournaments that offer national ranking points. 1000 of these points must come from win points. SPORTSMANSHIP CODE OF CONDUCT
Players, persons who appear to be associated with a player (including, but not limited to, parents and coaches), officials, and organizers of any tournament are under a duty to encourage and maintain high standards of proper conduct, fair play, and good sportsmanship. They are under an obligation to avoid acts that may be considered detrimental to the game of tennis. Detrimental acts include, but are not limited to, the acts set forth in USTA Regulation IV.C (Standards of Conduct). Friend at Court
Default No-Show Policy: Players are expected to play all matches including main draw and consolation. It is mandatory to notify the tournament director in written communication (via email) that a player needs to withdraw. Failure to notify the Tournament Director via email will receive a “Default No-Show” and 5 suspension points per the USTA Suspension Point System (USTA Regulations IV.F.)
USTA MAKEUP & REFUND POLICY
No refund is required beginning six days before the start date of the tournament or after selection is made, whichever date is later, if you withdraw from the tournament.
In the case of inclement weather, every effort will be made to complete the tournament in its entirety by changing the match or scoring format, if necessary.
If the tournament is shortened or otherwise modified in any way due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, refunds will not be offered.
If the tournament is canceled entirely prior to the player’s first match being completed, the player will be entitled to a 50% refund (after deducting USTA electronic fees), as the tournament has already incurred administrative and organizational expenses.
Once a player’s first match is complete, they are not entitled to a refund. Receiving a withdrawal/ default/ walkover counts as a match played as players receive ranking points.
The fee for electronic entries is not considered a part of the entry fee and is non-refundable.
DRESS CODE POLICY
The USTA SoCal Junior Tournament Staff and all officials of this event would like to inform the players of our expectations of proper attire while competing in this tournament:
ALL PLAYERS: Proper tennis attire is mandatory at all times. No cut off t-shirts or cut off shorts. Sleeveless tennis shirts may be worn. Clothing shall not include reference to gambling, tobacco products, alcohol, profanity, or violence.

Air Quality Index Guidelines
USTA SoCal's top priority is participant safety at all events. To that end USTA SoCal has adopted Air Quality (AQI 2.5) Guidelines using guidance from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). USTA SoCal and all organizers of USTA SoCal sanctioned tournaments and sanctioned leagues, and other USTA SoCal sponsored events shall use www.airnow.gov as the standard for local AQI monitoring.
