Message from Wayne Bryan and the Bryan Family. I am so very proud to have the honor to host this event in their name.
The Bryan Family is proud to lend our name and some funds for the first ever Junior Doubles Tournament to be held at the newly resurfaced courts at Ventura College on June 27-28. Mike and Bob grew up playing locally at the wonderful Ventura County Junior Tennis Assn. and Santa Barbara Tennis Patrons Tournaments. These events were always well run and the guys enjoyed playing them and making new friends.
We want to give back by making this upcoming doubles tournament the best we can possibly make it and adding some nice extras for the juniors, including T Shirts , Pizza and Drinks on ice, really nice Trophies , two out of three set matches with a 10 point TB for the third set, and a Playoff for Third Place for the losing Semi Finalists.
We are also supporting this tournament because of our longtime friendship and admiration for tournament director Nelson Emery. He is a great guy and dedicated Coach and he has always been so helpful to the Bryan Bros. tennis career that has taken them from those initial local VCJTA and SBTP tournaments to the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
We are sending our regards to all our Ventura County, Santa Barbara, and SoCal players, parents and coaches and hoping for an exciting and fun Junior Doubles Tournament at Ventura College on June 27-28.
Wayne, Kathy, Mike and Bob Bryan
“If we had more doubles programming, promotion, and coaching we could greatly increase the number of kids playing tennis. Doubles gives our sport more width and breadth. Doubles is fun for juniors and it really rounds out skills and teaches additional life lessons - - - and some youngsters just love the “team thing”. Plus, it gives them a second chance if they lose their singles match at a tournament. And don’t forget Mixed Doubles - - - boys and girls truly love that and there are also great life lessons inherent in Mixed . . . And there are always more smiles on the doubles court”

Questions parents ask
Will my junior get in?
No draw is full yet. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.
What is a Level 5?
A district-level event. Bigger draws, ranking matters for selection, points per win are higher than Level 6.
Can we enter two divisions?
One event per player at this tournament. Pick the age group that matches your junior's birth year, or the one up if they are ready for it.
When do we know?
Selections post after entries close (Tue, Jun 23, 2:59pm PDT). Draws usually post the week of the tournament. Text Coach Ace and we will tell you the moment either one lands.
