CONSOLATION INFORMATION
Voluntary Consolation starting the second weekend. Must email tournament director ( vranches@cityofirvine.org ) to play in consolation by Tuesday, January 27 at 9am PT.
Voluntary Consolation: VC only applies to the following
• Players that lose in the first round of the main draw
• Players who have advanced to the second round of the main draw via bye then lose in the second round
• Players who have advanced to the third round of the main draw via double-bye then lose in the third round.
IMPORTANT! Players who advance to the second round of the main draw via walkover/ withdrawal/ default/ retirement that lose in the second round of the main draw CANNOT be added to the voluntary consolation draw!
SCORING FORMAT
Main Draw Singles: Two out of three six game standard sets with a 10 pt match tiebreak in lieu 3rd set through the semifinals, full third set for the finals (BG16 only). BG12s will play a 10 pt match tiebreak in lieu of the 3rd set throughout the entire tournament. Regular Scoring
Consolation Singles: Two out of three four game short sets with a 7 pt match tiebreak in lieu 3rd set. No-ad scoring
Doubles Match Format: Eight game proset. No-ad scoring

Should a player withdraw from the draw, we will fill the spot with an alternate (without affecting seeding). We will not fill alternates after 12PM on Friday, January 23.

Will my junior get in?
Boys' Singles 16 & under, Girls' Singles 16 & under are full; the rest have room. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.
What is a Level 4?
USTA junior tournaments run from Level 7 (local, open to anyone) up to Level 1 (national). Lower number, stronger field, more points.
When do we know?
