DRAW FORMAT: Round Robin with playoff for top finishers of each group to determine 1st and 2nd place (for divisions with more than one group).

SCORING FORMAT:

• Round robin groups with three or four players will play each round as one set to 4 or 6 games (no-ad scoring), with a 7-point tie break at 4-4 or 6-6.

• Round robin groups with five players will play each round as one set to 4 games (no-ad scoring), with a 7-point tie break at 4-4.

• Playoffs will consist of two sets to 4 games (no-ad scoring), with a 7-point tie break at 4-4. If players split sets (ie, 4-5, 5-4), a 10-point tie break will be played.

First matches will start at 8 am; draws will be posted after registration closes for exact times of each player.

CHECK-IN: Please regularly review the scheduled date and time of your match, and arrive 15 minutes before your match time. When you check in at the tournament desk, you should be ready to go on court to play.

GUESTS: Spectators are welcome and encouraged, so long as they do not distract/interfere with any match. We have partially covered bleacher seating outside the courts, as well as some people who like to bring their own folding chairs/umbrellas for the park's grassy area.

LOCATION: Mountain View Sports & Racquet (6401 Skyline Dr, San Diego, CA, 92114) is located at the Southwest corner of Martin Luther King Jr Community Park. The closest parking lot to the tennis courts is at ( 6300 Pittsburgh Ave, San Diego, CA 92114 ), which you can reach by going to 65th St, then turning right onto Pittsburgh Ave. The parking lot is located in the first driveway on the right, and the tennis courts are at the top of the hill.

BALL TYPE: ProPenn

PLAYER SELECTION: Selections are bottom up by ranking (National Standing List); seedings are by NSL (ranking). This means players with no ranking will be selected first. If there are more unranked players than spots available, players will be selected in random order. Players who are not selected will be placed on an alternate list.

ALTERNATE POLICY: Should a player withdraw from the draw, we will fill the spot with an alternate (without affecting seeding). We will not fill alternates after 5 PM on Friday.

Will my junior get in?

No draw is full yet. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.

What is a Level 7?

The entry point of USTA junior tennis. One or two days, local, no ranking needed to enter, and every win earns ranking points. The right first tournament.

When do we know?
