From the tournament desk
Welcome to the Annual Powel Blankenship Jr. Tournament held at Pacific Beach Tennis Club. This year each division will be held on one day in a round-robin format. The goal of this tournament is to have each player play multiple "fast 4" set matches.

Please check the draws for your match times under the "Events" tab. Choose the age division and click the "+" sign next to player's name in the draw to see your times. There will be multiple rounds with times, check each match / round for specific times.
Matches are scheduled closely together, please note your match time might start later than what is scheduled on the draw. Rounds will likely finish quickly so do be prepared to stay at the Club in between matches.
The facility opens up at 8AM for warm up for 9 AM matches. Leave extra time for parking at PBTC. Additional parking is also at Mission Bay High School

The draw format is round robin with playoffs. Our goal will be to provide 2-3 matches per player in a single morning or afternoon. The match format is a single set to four by two with “no ad” scoring (tiebreak at 4-4). Draw and match formats may be altered for cogent reasons.
We will NOT be using the Match Tennis App for this tournament. Please check in with the tournament desk at your site.

Will my junior get in?
Boys' Singles 12 & under, Boys' Singles 14 & under are full; the rest have room. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.
What is a Level 7?
The entry point of USTA junior tennis. One or two days, local, no ranking needed to enter, and every win earns ranking points. The right first tournament.
Can we enter two divisions?
One event per player at this tournament. Pick the age group that matches your junior's birth year, or the one up if they are ready for it.
When do we know?
Selections post after entries close (Wed, May 13, 2:59pm PDT). Draws usually post the week of the tournament. Text Coach Ace and we will tell you the moment either one lands.
