Concurrently Playing Another Tournament with this L4
I have received a number of requests from players to play the Qualifiers of the L2 at IMG and this L4. Due to the draws filling for this L4, I will NOT be granting this request for that L2, or any other tournament. This is out of respect for the holidays leading up to the tournament and family plans surrounding them.
If you plan to play in another tournament with dates that overlap this L4, please choose the tournament you prefer to play and withdraw from the other tournament. Failure to do so could result in 4 suspension points.
Match Tennis App
We will utilize the Match Tennis App to expidite matches for this tournament via a virtual tournament desk. Please download the app and familiarize yourself with it's function. Please note that this USTA webpage is the official source of information for this tournament. If you are unsure of a match time or whether you have another match, you need to check the draws on the USTA website, not the Match Tennis App.
For those of you not familiar with the Match Tennis App, it is a platform which we use to operate a virtual tournament desk. There is no physical tournament desk for our events. You will need to fill out the Match Tennis App waiver with the cell phone number or numbers that will be present at the tourament.

You will check in for your match on the app. If you check in, it means you are ready to play regardless of match time. If you are assigned a court, you are immediately put on the clock.
When we have a court for you, you will receive a text message and in app message with your court assignment. You are to immediately proceed to your court. We have maps around the facility denoting your location and court numbers. The officials will put balls on court for you. Immediately spin your rackets if the official is not present to do a coin toss, and then start your 5min match warm-up.
After the match, you will enter your match score on the app as well. Please do this ASAP as our tourament staff must manually enter the score in the USTA software so it appears on the draws online.
Note that the Match Tennis App will NOT show your next match for check in until your match, and your future opponent's match, have finished, we have entered the scores on the USTA site, AND MTA has picked all of that up. JUST BECAUSE THERE IS NO MATCH TO CHECK-IN ON THE APP DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE DONE! This is why it is important for you to refer to the USTA draws for match times.
Doubles Partners
The tournament will not reach out to doubles partners. You can directly message other playrs through the UTR website. You can also post your info on the Match Tennis App Doubles Partner section and reach out to players who post their info there.
Once you have a partner, please pair on the USTA website AND name your doubles partner on your Match Tennis App waiver. You can also email me and I will pair them on the USTA website.

Will my junior get in?
No draw is full yet. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.
What is a Level 4?
USTA junior tournaments run from Level 7 (local, open to anyone) up to Level 1 (national). Lower number, stronger field, more points.
When do we know?
Selections post after entries close (Thu, Nov 19, 5:59pm EST). Draws usually post the week of the tournament. Text Coach Ace and we will tell you the moment either one lands.

After the deadline to register, the deadline to name a doubles partner will be Wednesday, November 27th at 9am. You need to name your partner in your MTA waiver and email me before that time. At 9am, I will download the information from MTA. I will pair partners on the USTA website as time goes. That will be the official list of who is paired.
Selections and Seeding
This tournament will use the National Combined Standing List for player selection. The Singles Seeding List will be used for splitting and seeding draws. Players will be flighted/seeded by ranking 1-16 into the first flight, and flighted/seeded 17-32 by ranking into the second flight, 33-48 3rd draw, and 49-64 4th draw. If it's not a full draw, we will split the draws evenly. Also, we will not split draws with less than 16 players. There will simply be one draw for those divisions. For example: There are 17 players in a division. Draw A will have 9 players and Draw B will have 8 players.
No refunds will be given after selections have been made.
For doubles selections, we will take teams in this order by combined standing for each group:
- Teams with both players accepted into singles
- Teams with one player in singles, and one not
- Teams with no players in singles
Late Entries
We might consider late entries for this event for 24 hours. For any division that fills before the deadline, late entries will go on the bottom of the alternate list, regardless of ranking, in the order they email me.
To be a late entry, email me (bill.reynolds@carync.gov) with your player's name, USTA number, and the division(s) you wish to apply for. You CANNOT be a late entry if you would be seeded in the division you apply to be a late entry.
On-Site Alternates
We will have a sign in for on-site alternates. Sometime on Friday, the day before play starts, we will stop calling alternates off of the alternate list and move to the on-site alternate process. Players are to sign in at the CTP Clubhouse by 8am for boys, and 9am for girls with their name, USTA number, and phone number. We will order those who sign in by Combined Standing. Should someone withdraw, we will call you. You MUST remain at CTP until all 1st round matches have gone on court. If we call you and discover you are not on-site, we will immediately move to the next player on the on-site alternate list.
Format and Schedule of Play
Each singles division will be divided into flights of up to 16 players (up to 64 players per division). Each flight will play a FICQ. Doubles will be a single elimination draw with up to 32 teams.
Assuming perfect weather, the tentative schedule will be:
Saturday - 2 rounds of singles followed by 2 rounds of doubles
Sunday - 2 rounds of singles followed by 2 rounds of doubles (main draw singles will complete on Sunday)
Monday - Singles Consolation Finals
Singles will be two out of three sets to 6 games, with ads, 7pt tiebreaker at 6-6, 10pt match tiebreaker in lieu of the third set.
Doubles will be an 8 game pro set, with ads, 7pt tiebreaker at 8-8.
Sites and Practice Courts
We will utilize at least 3 sites for this tournament:

Dunham Park - 519 Walnut St, Cary, NC
We will utilize our indoor courts in the event of weather. Before play (8am), all outdoor courts are available for warm-up. After play starts, we will designate 2-3 courts for walk-up warm-ups. On these courts, players need to share. Players hitting with each other will take priority over a player hitting with anyone not competing in the tournament. Be prepared to hit 4 to a court. You must bring your own balls to warm-up.

DEFAULT NO-SHOW POLICY: Players are expected to play all matches including main draw and consolation. It is mandatory to notify the tournament director in written communication (via email) that a player needs to withdraw and include an approved reason for the withdrawal. Failure to notify the Tournament Director via email will receive a “Default No-Show” and 5 suspension points per the USTA Suspension Point System (USTA Regulations IV.F.)

Players, persons who appear to be associated with a player (including, but not limited to, parents and coaches), officials, and organizers of any tournament are under a duty to encourage and maintain high standards of proper conduct, fair play, and good sportsmanship. They are under an obligation to avoid acts that may be considered detrimental to the game of tennis. PlaySight Broadcast and Recordings
Currently, 17 of our courts at CTP have PlaySight cameras (Stadium and 1-16). We will be streaming those 17 courts for the entire duration of the event. Grandparents are the #1 lover of this, but uncles, aunts, and coaches are fans too! Watching is free, just setup a PlaySight account and click on the facility Town of Cary.
We are happy to tell you all that we will be providing free PlaySight recordings during the event as one of your player gifts!
In order to get a recording, please go ahead and download the PlaySight app, and make an account. If you want a recoding, we must start it before the match. We are not constantly recording everything. Please download the app and make an account now so you don't miss anything while you're here!
Once you are assigned your court, the player needs to go to the court, but the parent or guardian will come to the front desk to start the recording. You can only record your own player's match. The front desk will give you a QR code to scan. If you're recording a singles match, please set the timer to 2 hours. If it's a doubles match, please set the timer to 1.5 hours.
Courts will be assigned randomly, for the most part, so we will not take any requests for court assignments. The courts not assigned randomly are the matches that we will the chairing. All R16 main draw singles matches onward will be chaired. We will also be chairing matches before that. Those chairs will mainly focus on the highest seed available at the time the court is available, but other matches between unseeded players will get chaired too.
Dress Code
The tournament committee has set a dress code in this tournament to which all participants are expected to adhere. These Rules are based on our community standards and all participants must observe all rules at all of the sites used during the tournament. Proper tennis attire must be worn.
No Sports Bras or Compression Shorts are to be worn alone; Midriffs must be covered when arms are at rest; Spandex Shorts must be covered by additional shorts or skirt; Items such as "shorties" or "booty shorts" are not allowed to be worn without being covered; No tank tops, cut off t-shirts, or cut-off jeans shorts;
Proper tennis attire does not include roll down waist bands on skirts or shorts, or exposure of skin between tops, skirts, or shorts. No underwear should be visible above the waistband or below the hemline, and shorts must be worn appropriately above pelvic bones.
Sleeveless tennis wear may be worn. No reference to drugs, alcohol, foul language, or tobacco may be depicted on player attire.
All match play is governed by Friend at Court , the USTA Code; USTA Southern Rules; USTA Southern Tournament Regulations, with the current USTA Point Penalty System in effect for all matches.

All USTA Southern Level 4 non-team events will Select 64 Players and flight into 4 – 16 Player Draws. Please see the document for information about Flighted Draws.

SIGNING UP FOR TWO DIVISIONS
Players may register for two age divisions in Level 3 Closed, Level 4 Open/Closed tournaments. Players that do register for both divisions will automatically be selected in the older division if they are selected for both. Players not selected to either division will remain on both alternate Lists for both age divisions. If selected, the player must play in the division they first get into from the alternate lists and will be removed from the Alternate List in the other division. Once a player is selected for any one division, NO CHANGES CAN BE MADE.
YOU MUST PLAY THE SAME AGE DIVISION FOR SINGLES AND DOUBLES
Per STA rules for all National Level 3-5's, you must play the same doubles division as your chosen singles division.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL PLAYERS RE: CONCURRENT TOURNAMENTS
USTA Regulations state the following:
Player shall not enter two tournaments at same time. When entries close, a player shall not be entered in two or more sanctioned tournaments, if any part of the tournaments overlap unless each Tournament Committee involved understands the situation and concurs in writing. After a player has been eliminated from a tournament whose schedule of play partially overlaps with that of a second tournament, the player may then enter the second tournament.
(USTA REGULATIONS IV.C. (Standards of Conduct), 2025 Friend at Court, #s 12 through #17 apply).
Penalty: (4) Suspension points to player in violation per offense, enforced by either Tournament Committee, and/or USTA Administration.
SPORTSMANSHIP & THE USTA PLAYER OATH
All participants shall familiarize themselves with The Code which is meant to be a guide to fair play. By participating in the tournament, all players agree to abide by the USTA Player Oath: "I recognize that tennis is a sport that places the responsibility for fair play on me. I promise to abide by the rules of the game, which require me to give the benefit of the doubt to my opponent. At all times I shall strive to compete with the true spirit of sportsmanship, recognizing that my behavior on the court is a direct reflection of my character. Whether my matches end with my victory or defeat, I promise to conduct myself in a way that honors my opponents, those who support me, and the game of tennis."
SAFE PLAY INFORMATION FOR PLAYERS & COACHES
Please be advised that if you plan to bring your coach with you, he/she SHOULD be Safe Play Approved through the end of the Tournament. This includes completing SafeSport training, acknowledging the USTA Safe Play Policy which includes reporting requirements, and a criminal background check. You can check if your coach is Safe Play Approved by visiting: https://www.usta.com/en/home/safe-play/search-for-a-tennis-provider.html. If they are not Safe Play Approved, please ensure they complete the process ASAP by visiting www.usta.com/safeplay and selecting “Get Approved.” PLEASE NOTE: SAFESPORT TRAINING IS 90 MINUTES LONG AND FULL APPROVAL CAN TAKE UP TO 5 DAYS.
