Counts are live from USTA as of the last hour. Selection is by ranking list: a full draw still takes alternates, and unranked juniors get in when a draw is not full.

Chapel Hill Tennis Club Junior Open L5
This is part of an L5 junior tournament (Oct 2-4), for ages 12-18. This tournament is for the Juniors 16U & 18U which will be played at Chapel Hill Tennis Club. Juniors 12U & 14U will play at Hollow Rock Racquet and Swim Club and should register on that tournament site. Juniors cannot play in both tournaments or across age groups.
Location and Court Surface : Chapel Hill Tennis Club will have 12 Har-Tru courts and 4 hardcourts on site for the tournament. There is a potential that we will use additional hardcourts at Carrboro High School (approximately 7 min drive from CHTC).
Our current plan is to have G18s, B16s, and B18s on Har-Tru, with G16s on hard courts. This is subject to change based on final scheduling and court availability, and we’ll confirm details closer to the event.
SCHEDULE NOTES:
• Singles will be played on Saturday and Sunday, starting as early as 8 am each day.

Questions parents ask
Will my junior get in?
No draw is full yet. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.
What is a Level 5?
A district-level event. Bigger draws, ranking matters for selection, points per win are higher than Level 6.
When do we know?
Selections post after entries close (Fri, Sep 25, 5:59pm EDT). Draws usually post the week of the tournament. Text Coach Ace and we will tell you the moment either one lands.
Text Coach Ace at (213) 410-2440 with your junior's name and division. Ace keeps the file: deadline, selections, draws, and what to do the night before.

PLAYER SELECTION & SEEDING
This tournament will use the National Combined Standing List for player selection. The Singles Seeding List will be used for splitting and seeding draws. Players will be flighted/seeded by ranking 1-16 into the first flight, and flighted/seeded 17-32 by ranking into the second flight. If it's not a full draw, we will split the draws evenly. Also, we will not split draws with less than 16 players. There will simply be one draw for those divisions. For example: There are 17 players in a division. Draw A will have 9 players and Draw B will have 8 players.
POINTS PER ROUND
This tournament carries with it USTA Level 5 points per round. Please click here for the point tables and refer to the Flighted Draw table on page 7 for this tournament.
Note: This is not like the old USTA Southern Waterfall draws.
MATCH SCORING/DRAW SIZE Two 16-Player Draws. Players will be flighted into each draw by their ranking from the Combined National Standings List. All matches are best of three tie break sets with a 10-point tiebreaker in lieu of a 3rd set.
WITHDRAWALS If there is a withdrawal after the draw has been published, the spot will be replaced by the next alternate - no matter which draw/bracket it is - if there is an alternate list.
