Singles: 64-players flighted into four 16-player draws, each with a FICQ and 3/4 playoff. All matches are best-of-three tiebreak sets with a 10-point match tiebreak in lieu of 3rd set.
Doubles: 32-team draw. Single Elimination with a 3/4 playoff. Format is an 8-game pro-set, with a 7-point tiebreak at 8 games all, with no-ad scoring.
Flighted Draws: This tournament will use the Combined National Standing List for player selection. The Singles Seeding List will be used for splitting and seeding draws. Players will be flighted/seeded by ranking 1-16 into the first flight, and flighted/seeded 17-32 by ranking into the second flight, and so forth. If it's not a full draw, we will split the draws evenly. Also, we will not split draws with less than 16 players. There will simply be one draw for those divisions. For example: There are 17 players in a division. Draw A will have 9 players and Draw B will have 8 players.
Selections into the tournament are done from the NSL which is a combination of singles and doubles results. Players are assigned to their flights from the seeding list which considers only singles. That's why the two lists are not necessarily the same.
Note: There is no charge for playing doubles. The entry fee listed for doubles is a doubles-only fee.

If you cannot make it in time, please email Tina at tmccord@dothan.org to let her know you'll check in on Saturday morning, no later than 30 minutes before your match time. If you don't check in on Friday and your first match is at Azalea, you'll need to come to the main site and complete on-site check-in, then go to Azalea.
Waivers are required prior to play and should be completed in the Match Tennis App (MTA).

Will my junior get in?
No draw is full yet. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.
What is a Level 4?
USTA junior tournaments run from Level 7 (local, open to anyone) up to Level 1 (national). Lower number, stronger field, more points.
When do we know?

Practice Courts: Friday, main site only, all 20 courts will be available for practice at no charge. First come, first serve. Please share. Saturday at both sites, all courts will be open for warm up starting each day at 6:00 am until 7:00 am, when courts will be cleared for grooming.

Trainer & Stringer: A trainer and stringer will be available at both sites throughout the tournament. A variety of strings are available. However, to be sure you have what you need, we recommend that you bring your own string.

Officiating: One roving official per every four courts. Chaired matches for the singles final, singles semi-finals, singles 3/4 playoff and the doubles final. We will have at least one court being chaired throughout the event starting with round one so that many players will have the opportunity to experience playing in a chaired match.

Awards will be presented in all flights of the singles for winners, finalists, and 3rd place. In the doubles, winners, finalists, 3rd and 4th places will be awarded.
DEFAULT NO-SHOW POLICY: Players are expected to play all matches including main draw and consolation. It is mandatory to notify the tournament director in written communication (via email) that a player needs to withdraw. Failure to notify the Tournament Director via email will receive a “Default No-Show” and 5 suspension points per the USTA Suspension Point System (USTA Regulations IV.F.)
STANDARDS OF CONDUCT
Players, persons who appear to be associated with a player (including, but not limited to, parents and coaches), officials, and organizers of any tournament are under a duty to encourage and maintain high standards of proper conduct, fair play, and good sportsmanship. They are under an obligation to avoid acts that may be considered detrimental to the game of tennis. USTA Alabama offers financial assistance to eligible junior players (ages 12–18) competing in Alabama and Southern team events. Applicants must be Alabama residents and meet income eligibility requirements. Funding of up to $750 is available to help cover travel-related expenses such as fuel, lodging, meals, and tournament entry fees. Awards are considered on a case-by-case basis and require proper documentation of expenses.

Late entries (subject to the discretion of the Tournament Committee) will be processed on a first come - first serve basis. Late entries that affect the seeding are NOT allowed. Please include the player's name, USTA # and a contact phone number with your request. We will contact you.
Late entries may be accepted or placed on the alternate list in the order received after entries received by the deadline. Entries received at the same time are ordered randomly. If the draw has been made, the Tournament Committee may accept only late entries of players who do not invalidate the seeding.

Starting in January 2027, USTA Southern L3 - L5 Tournaments will play no-ad scoring in Doubles.
SIGNING UP FOR TWO DIVISIONS:
Players may register for two age divisions in Level 3 Closed, Level 4 Open/Closed tournaments. Players that do register for both divisions will automatically be selected in the older division if they are selected for both. Players not selected to either division will remain on both alternate lists for both divisions but will need to play the division they first get into from the alternate lists. They will be removed from the Alternate list in the other division. Once a player is selected for any one division, NO CHANGES CAN BE MADE.
YOU MUST PLAY THE SAME AGE DIVISION FOR SINGLES AND DOUBLES:
Per STA rules for all National Level 3-5's, you must play the same doubles division as your chosen singles division.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL PLAYERS RE: CONCURRENT TOURNAMENTS
USTA Regulations state the following:
• Player shall not enter two tournaments at same time. When entries close, a player shall not be entered in two or more sanctioned tournaments, if any part of the tournaments overlap unless each Tournament Committee involved understands the situation and concurs in writing. After a player has been eliminated from a tournament whose schedule of play partially overlaps with that of a second tournament, the player may enter the second tournament.
(USTA REGULATIONS IV.C. (Standards of Conduct), 2025 Friend at Court, #s 12 through #17 apply).
Penalty: (4) Suspension points to player in violation per offense, enforced by either Tournament Committee, and/or USTA Administration.
SPORTSMANSHIP & THE USTA PLAYER OATH:
All participants shall familiarize themselves with The Code which is meant to be a guide to fair play. By participating in the tournament, all players agree to abide by the USTA Player Oath: "I recognize that tennis is a sport that places the responsibility for fair play on me. I promise to abide by the rules of the game, which require me to give the benefit of the doubt to my opponent. At all times I shall strive to compete with the true spirit of sportsmanship, recognizing that my behavior on the court is a direct reflection of my character. Whether my matches end with my victory or defeat, I promise to conduct myself in a way that honors my opponents, those who support me, and the game of tennis."
SAFE PLAY INFORMATION FOR PLAYERS & COACHES:
Please be advised that if you plan to bring your coach with you, he/she SHOULD be Safe Play Approved through the end of the Tournament. This includes completing SafeSport training, acknowledging the USTA Safe Play Policy which includes reporting requirements, and a criminal background check. If they are not Safe Play Approved, please ensure they complete the process ASAP by visiting www.usta.com/safeplay and selecting “Get Approved.” PLEASE NOTE: SAFESPORT TRAINING IS 90 MINUTES LONG AND FULL APPROVAL CAN TAKE UP TO 5 DAYS.

In 2000, Westgate Tennis Center became the most decorated Tennis Center in America when it won multiple national awards. Annually from 2001 to 2019, it was the home of a prestigious women's professional circuit event. Currently, Westgate Tennis Center begins its fifth year as the host site for the USTA Boys' 14 National Clay Court Championships. This modern facility features 20 lighted Har-Tru courts, all with player seating and shade shelters. Spectators can enjoy viewing from atop the 3500-square foot clubhouse or a centrally located, elevated berm.
