USTA National Junior Level 6 events are for Boys/Girls, ages 12-18 and all play is conducted with yellow ball.
The below rules and expectations are for the District of North Carolina.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE
• Monday @ 5:59pm, prior to tournament start date
• Late entries may be accepted IF they do not affect seeding and are ultimately at the discretion of the tournament director, a Late Fee may be applied.
TWO-DAY EVENT
• Sanctioned to go over the period of two consecutive days
SELECTIONS
• Top-down by ranking
• Selections are to use the most recent published National Combined Standing Lists
• Seeding is to be completed by using the most recent published National Singles List. (Seeds are placed in position based on the rules in the Friend at Court. All other players are placed randomly in draws.
• 16 Draw possible limits for singles in all age groups (TD may increase the draw limit once permission is granted by the STATE OFFICE with proof of adequate number of courts available)
SINGLES SCORE FORMAT
• REGULAR FORMAT: Two tiebreak sets, 10-point match tiebreak at one set all
• INCLEMENT WEATHER FORMAT: Two short sets to 4, 7-point match tiebreak at one set all

• USTA REGULATIONS STATE THE FOLLOWING: A Player shall not enter two tournaments at the same time. When entries close, a player shall not be entered in two or more sanctioned tournaments, if any part of the tournaments overlap unless each Tournament Committee involved understands the situation and concurs in writing. After a player has been eliminated from a tournament whose schedule of play partially overlaps with that of a second tournament, the player may enter the second tournament. (USTA REGULATIONS IV.C. (Standards of Conduct),2021 Friend at Court, #s 12 through #17 apply). Penalty: (4) Suspension points to player in violation per offense, enforced by either Tournament Committee, and/or USTA Administration.

Will my junior get in?
No draw is full yet. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.
What is a Level 6?
The entry point of USTA junior tennis. One or two days, local, no ranking needed to enter, and every win earns ranking points. The right first tournament.
When do we know?
Selections post after entries close (Mon, Nov 30, 5:59pm EST). Draws usually post the week of the tournament. Text Coach Ace and we will tell you the moment either one lands.

A player may have more than 6 singles and 6 doubles tournaments on their player record, but only the results from the best 6 of each will be used in the PPR Calculation.
• The PPR Calculation: National Standings Lists and Ranking Lists order players based on the following PPR calculation. This list is often called a “Combined List”.

We will be using the Point Penalty System for LATENESS:
*5 minutes or less - Loss of toss plus 1 game
*5:01 - 10 Minutes late - Loss of toss plus 2 games
*10:01 - 15 Minutes late - Loss of toss plus 3 games
*More than 15 minutes late - Default from match
Time Rules Reminders : Time between points, a maximum of twenty-five (25) Seconds is allowed. When the players change ends at the end of a game, a maximum of ninety (90) seconds are allowed. At the end of each set there shall be a set break of a maximum of one hundred and twenty (120) seconds. The warm up shall be a maximum of five (5) minutes.

What if it rains or it is wet when we wake up?
PLEASE, check THIS website for updates in the morning BEFORE you leave for Gastonia. We will check the courts, if necessary, between 5:30 and 6:00 am. If we need to go on a "RAIN DELAY" it will be posted here as soon as decision is made.
What is a rain delay? How does that affect me?
A "Rain Delay" ( Before matches start) is our best estimate of when the wet courts will be dry enough to play on. If there is a TWO HOUR DELAY, you would add two hours to your original Match Time. 8:00 am start would begin at 10:00 am.
B. "Rain Delay" ( AFTER MATCHES have started) you would report on the score text a weather delay, then report back to the site in the time given to you by Site Referee and/or VTD (Virtual Tournament Desk Application).
Scoring will change if a delay in matches occurs.
Draws will be posted Wednesday before the tournament dates.
ALTERNATE Information: If your email information was about placement on Alternate's List, here are a few things to know.
• 1) Your credit card has not been charged.
• 2) Alternate's list is in order of acceptence if there is a withdraw from the main draw before draws are published. If there is a withdrawal in the MAIN draw, we will email, text and call the first alternate.
• 3) You may request withdrawal if you wish to make other plans for the weekend. There are no penalty points to withdraw.
• 4) Alternates are withdrawn in the committee meeting Friday morning.
