This is a National Level 3 Event, offering Boys & Girls 16&U singles & doubles . It will be held at Van Der Meer Tennis Academy, in Hilton Head Island, SC. This is a 3 day tournament beginning on Saturday, September 12th and finishing on Monday, Monday, September 14th.
1. DRAW, SCORING FORMATS, DRAW PUBLICATION, EARLIEST MATCH START TIMES
The format of play for singles is a 32 Draw with a feed-in consolation draw through round of 16. The scoring for both main & consolation singles draws will consist of two tiebreak sets using regular (with ad) scoring with a Match Tie-break in lieu of 3rd set. There will be a 3rd & 4th as well as a 5th & 6th Playoff in singles. The format of play for doubles is a 16 Draw, Single elimination with a 3rd/4th Playoff. The scoring for Doubles is a 8-game pro set (7 point tiebreak at 8 all) with no ad scoring (deciding point played at deuce).

Will my junior get in?
Boys' Doubles 16 & under, Boys' Singles 16 & under, Girls' Doubles 16 & under, Girls' Singles 16 & under are full; the rest have room. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.
What is a Level 3?
USTA junior tournaments run from Level 7 (local, open to anyone) up to Level 1 (national). Lower number, stronger field, more points.
When do we know?
Selections post after entries close (Thu, Aug 20, 12:00pm EDT). Draws usually post the week of the tournament. Text Coach Ace and we will tell you the moment either one lands.

9. STRINGING
Experienced stringing will be provided at The Van Der Meer Tennis Center only at the cost of $18 for labor. Our VDM Pro Shops carry Dunlop string. If you need another kind of string, please be prepared to bring it with you!

11. ON-SITE ALTERNATES
If you wish to be an on-site alternate for singles, please go to the designated site for your playing division (Boys 16s - VDM Tennis Center or Shipyard Racquet Club, Girls 16s - Shipyard Racquet Club). You MUST be on-site by 7:30 am and text the tournament director Scott McKay at 512-934-7693 to let him know that you are here. This must also be done by 30 minutes before the 1st round of doubles on Saturday if you wish to be a doubles alternate. On-site alternates will be selected in order of ranking from the current alternate list.
12. WITHDRAWAL POLICY
Withdrawals and Entry fee refund Policy
During hours of play: You must see the on-site trainer and get approval from the Head Referee. The Head Referee is located at the Shipyard Racquet Club location with the trainer at the Shipyard Racquet Club as well. Do not tell just anyone at the desk and think you have properly defaulted. Unless you speak to the Head Referee in person, it will count as a "No Show" and will accumulate suspension points. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY WITHDRAWALS OVER THE PHONE. If the player is not playing because of an injury or illness, a visit with the onsite trainer is required.
After play has ended for the day:
If you become ill or injured (or personal emergency) after play has ended for the day, email your detailed withdrawal to the tournament director (scott@vdmtennis.com)
Check draws nightly for changes:
Check your draw carefully each evening after 8 p.m. to verify time, locations, and if there has been a withdrawal that effects your next match.
13. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
PLAYER GIFT INFO!
Player gifts will be located at your singles site. Please pick them up from the "unofficial tournament desk." At the VDM Tennis Center this will be located upstairs in the "Blue room." At Shipyard Racquet Club, this will be located in the downstairs area of the indoor courts (the "Conference room").
PLEASE NOTE!
All 32 players who get selected for singles will also be selected for doubles. If you are in the main draw for singles, and do not wish to play doubles, please notify the tournament director, Scott McKay: scott@vdmtennis.com
If you do want to play doubles, please notify me of your partner by Sunday, 9/6/26 12 noon.
