TOURNAMENT PHILOSOPHY & OVERVIEW
HOOASA Elite Eight Events are intentionally designed for junior players seeking a highly competitive weekend of tennis with meaningful ranking opportunities. Players are guaranteed seven total matches* : four singles matches—the maximum permitted under the USTA Player Pathway for Level 6 tournaments—and three doubles matches.
Built around a selective entry process and a thoughtfully structured competition format, the Elite Eight emphasizes quality match play, player development, and maximum ranking point potential. The result is an elevated Level 6 tournament experience rarely found within traditional tournament structure.
The eight highest-ranked players in each division, based on the Combined National Standing List , will be selected for entry. Players will be divided into two groups of four and compete in round robin singles play, followed by playoff matches against the corresponding finisher from the opposite group. In addition, all selected players will form 4 doubles teams and participate in a doubles round robin. To be considered for selection, players must register for both singles and doubles.
This format maximizes court time while providing one of the strongest ranking point opportunities available at the Level 6 level. Players may earn up to 95 singles ranking points for winning their flight, with additional bonus points available when applicable.
*The guarantee of seven matches is contingent upon draws achieving the required eight-player capacity, the continued health and participation of all players throughout the event, and weather conditions permitting the full completion of the tournament.

Questions parents ask
Will my junior get in?
No draw is full yet. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.
What is a Level 6?
The entry point of USTA junior tennis. One or two days, local, no ranking needed to enter, and every win earns ranking points. The right first tournament.
When do we know?
Selections post after entries close (Mon, Nov 10, 4:59pm CST). Draws usually post the week of the tournament. Text Coach Ace and we will tell you the moment either one lands.
