WE HAVE DECIDED TO MAKE 10 & UNDER ORANGE AND GREEN CO-ED EVENT. WE HAVE CONFIRMED WITH USTA SOUTHERN THAT THEY WILL GET PROGRESSION CREDIT FOR USTA MATCHES!

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• We are still working on the Draws

• EVEN IF YOU HAVE A BYE FIRST ROUND, YOU NEED TO BE CHECKED IN AND READY TO PLAY BY 8:30!!!

• While the draws are posted, a lot can happen before 8:30am Saturday. If a player withdraws, we might have to quickly remake the draw. So if you had a bye first round when these draws were posted, you might not when 9:00 rolls around.

RULES & SCORING FOR 10 & UNDER (ORANGE/GREEN BALL)

• 2 short sets. At 3 games to 3 games, the next game wins.

• We will be playing a minumum of 3 rounds and if time permits we will play a 4th round.

• Players spin rackets to determine who serves first. Player serves entire game and then the player on the other side serves an entire game.

• NO AD SCORING When individual game is tied at 40-40, the next point wins the game. At 40-40, receiver/returner can pick which side he or she returns from.

• Round Robin Format

• Switch sides of the net on odd games.

• Players are to make “out” calls on their own. Players are also encouraged to call out the score before they serve.

• When match is finished, both players will give score (# games won) to the monitor/scorekeeper.

• First match starts promptly at 8 am

SCHEDULE - SATURDAY, MAY 27

• 7:00 - 7:45 CHECK IN AT MOBILE TENNIS CENTER • Check In will be at the Tournament Desk by court 45, ACROSS THE STREET from the City Desk/Pro Shop

• All players must be checked in by 8:45. Lateness of a player may affect the draw.

• Parents you will need to sign a waiver at check in.

• 7:50 PLAYERS WILL BE SENT TO ASSIGNED COURTS

• 8:00 MATCHES WILL PROMPTLY BEGIN

Will my junior get in?

No draw is full yet. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.

What is a Junior Circuit?

USTA junior tournaments run from Level 7 (local, open to anyone) up to Level 1 (national). Lower number, stronger field, more points.

When do we know?

Selections post after entries close (Thu, Oct 8, 4:59pm CDT). Draws usually post the week of the tournament. Text Coach Ace and we will tell you the moment either one lands.
