The Team Kentucky Early Development Camp (EDC) is a high-energy training opportunity designed for motivated young players looking to build a strong foundation for long-term success in tennis. Led by certified coaches, the camp focuses on athletic development, tennis fundamentals, competitive skills, and character-building in a fun and challenging environment. Players will participate in engaging drills, match play, and team-based games that encourage confidence, sportsmanship, and a love for the game. The Team Kentucky EDC is designed to help developing players grow both on and off the court while gaining exposure to the USTA player development pathway and connecting with other passionate young athletes.

This is an all-day camp. The camp will begin at 9 AM and run through 1 PM. There will then be a 1-hour break for lunch (provided), followed by match play begining at 2 PM. All players partcipating in the camp will earn USTA PlayTracker points for their orange or green ball progression.

This camp has a maximum capacity of 24 players total and is for players living in the USTA Kentucky District. Spots will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Team Kentucky Early Development Camps (EDCs) are designed for talented young players who are competing in Orange Ball and Green Ball events. They are considered the first step in the USTA Player Development pathway that can eventually lead to sectional camps, Team USA camps, and higher-level national opportunities.

These camps are not just about tennis technique. The curriculum focuses on three areas:

• Athletic development (speed, agility, balance, coordination)

• Tennis fundamentals and tactical understanding

• Character development and competitive mindset

The emphasis is on creating well-rounded athletes rather than simply producing better ball strikers.

Will my junior get in?

No draw is full yet. Selection is by ranking list, so a junior with no ranking can still get in when a draw is not full, and goes on the alternate list when it is.

What is a Junior Circuit?

USTA junior tournaments run from Level 7 (local, open to anyone) up to Level 1 (national). Lower number, stronger field, more points.

When do we know?
