Players will be selected for the tournament in the following order:
1 - Players with no points based on the most recent National Standings List
2 - Players with lowest number of points based on the most recent National Standings List
Player seeding: WTN, based on highest confidence
✅ Tournament Start Time:
Tournament to start Saturday between 12:00-2:00 PM. Match times will be determined after entries close and draws are finalized. Start times may vary by division depending on the number of players registered.
Players are responsible for checking the tournament page regularly for updated draws, match times, and tournament messages.
✅ Arrival and Check-In:
Players must check in at the tournament desk at least 15 minutes before each scheduled match time .
Players should arrive fully prepared to go on court when called. This includes having racquets, water, towel, appropriate shoes, and any other personal equipment needed.
Failure to check in on time may result in lateness penalties or default, in accordance with USTA rules.
✅ Draw Size & Format:
The goal is to have an 8-Player Compass Draw for each division, providing players with 3-guaranteed matches when possible.
**Depending on the number of entries, divisions may be adjusted to a different format.**
The tournament director reserves the right to adjust the format as needed based on entries, court availability, weather, player safety, and overall tournament schedule.
✅ Scoring & Match Format:
Scoring format: One standard tiebreak set to 6, 7-point tiebreak at 6 games all
Scoring format may be adjusted if necessary due to draw size, weather, court availability, or other circumstances outside the tournament’s control.
Each match will have a 5-minute warm-up . Players are expected to begin match play immediately after the warm-up ends.
Per USTA regulations, players may play a maximum of 4 matches.
Awards will be given to 1st and 2nd place in each division, when applicable based on draw format.
✅ USTA Officials:
There will be no USTA officials on site for this tournament.
Players are expected to know the basic rules of tennis, call lines fairly, keep score accurately, and compete with honesty, respect, and good sportsmanship.
If players have a scoring disagreement, rules question, or issue during a match, they must stop play and come to the tournament desk for assistance. Players should not continue playing and then ask for the issue to be corrected after the fact.
✅ Parent and Spectator Conduct:
Parents, coaches, and spectators are not permitted to coach, signal, call lines, keep score for players, intervene in matches, or communicate with players during match play.
This includes verbal comments, hand signals, facial expressions, instructions, score corrections, line-call opinions, or any attempt to influence the match.
Only the players on court may make line calls and manage the score. If there is a dispute, the players must come to the tournament desk. Parents may not step onto the court or insert themselves into the match.
Any parent, coach, or spectator who interferes with play, argues with players, questions line calls, or creates a disruption may be asked to leave the viewing area or facility. Continued interference may result in penalties to the player, including default, at the discretion of the tournament director.
Please let the kids compete. This is a development-level tournament, and part of the experience is learning how to compete, solve problems, and handle match situations independently.
✅ Sportsmanship
Good sportsmanship is expected at all times from players, parents, coaches, and spectators.
Unsportsmanlike conduct may include, but is not limited to:
• Cheating or intentionally making unfair line calls
• Arguing with opponents, parents, or tournament staff
• Racquet abuse, ball abuse, or verbal abuse
• Coaching during matches
• Refusing to follow tournament instructions
• Disruptive behavior by players or spectators
The tournament director reserves the right to address unsportsmanlike conduct as needed, including issuing warnings, removing spectators, or defaulting players when appropriate.
✅ Refunds
No refunds will be issued after player selection has been completed.
✅ Weather and Schedule Changes
This tournament will be played indoors, so weather is not expected to affect match play or the tournament schedule.
However, the tournament director reserves the right to make adjustments if needed due to circumstances outside of our control, including but not limited to facility issues, court availability, player safety concerns, or other unexpected situations.
Players and parents are responsible for checking the tournament page and tournament messages for any updates.
