Players should arrive at Milbrook Exchange Tennis Center (METC) OR Lions Park (LPRN) at least 15-20 minutes before first posted match time. Lions Park community center restrooms are open on Saturday 9:00-2:45 and Sunday 1:00-6:00. There is a portable toilet courtside at Lions Park. Millbrook restrooms are open all day. Courts at each site are available for warm up until 7:45 each morning. Once the tournament starts, courts ARE NOT available for warm up; DO NOT jump on an empty court.

Players must have access to a device with Match Tennis App loaded and logged in and at least one of the phone numbers listed in your MTA account. Please charge your phones before you leave home.
When you are on site and ready to play, check in for your match using MTA. Once I have both opponents checked in AND an open court, you will receive your court assignment via text. If you have checked in and have not received a court assignment, I am either waiting on your opponent or an empty court. Confirm your court assignment and proceed IMMEDIATELY to your assigned court. Balls will be on court. Match format is one set to 6, win by 2, ad scoring, 7 point set tiebreak at 6-6; Match format may change if the tournament is delayed by weather.
When your match is complete, place used balls on the bench and report your scores to MTA immediately. Both players need to report scores; if you do not report your score within 15 minutes of the end of your match, you forfeit any appeal if you feel the score is incorrect. Your next match time can be found in the online draws. Draws will be updated as I get scores reported. Officials at the sites do not have your next match time. You MUST check the updated draws online for next match time.
USTA Junior Player Oath
I recognize that tennis is a sport that places the responsibility for fair play on me. I promise to abide by the rules of the game, which require me to give the benefit of the doubt to my opponent. At all times I shall strive to compete with the true spirit of sportsmanship, recognizing that my behavior on the court is a direct reflection of my character. Whether my matches end with my victory or defeat, I promise to conduct myself in a way that honors my opponents, those who support me, and the game of tennis.
Sportsmanship guidelines for spectators: Set a positive example by treating players, tournament officials, parents, coaches and spectators with respect. Cheer positively and appropriately for well played points, not for double faults and unforced errors. Refrain from getting involved during a match, including coaching or signaling; allow players to resolve on court disputes themselves with the help of tournament officials. Observe all USTA rules and regulations as well as local club directives that ensure safety of all participants. Emphasize the importance of fair play and of being a good sport. All players and parents shall conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner both on and off the court. It is NEVER acceptable for a parent to speak negatively to someone else’s child. Spectators and Coaches have a responsibility to set a positive example for good sportsmanship to the player. Players may be assessed code violations for egregious unsportsmanlike behaviour by parents, coaches or other persons associated with the player.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE

Late entries may be accepted IF they do not affect seeding and are ultimately at the discretion of the tournament director, a Late Fee may be applied.
ONE-DAY EVENT
Sanctioned to go over the period of one day. Two days may be considered for these reasons: the 2nd day is a rain back up day OR if a host plans to play certain divisions on day one and the other divisions on day two. (For example, BG12-14s can be played on Saturday and BG16-18s can be played on Sunday.)
SELECTIONS
Non-ranked to ranked or “Bottom Up”, which means players who have no standing in the points per round ranking system will get selected first above players who have a standing.
Seeding is to be completed by using the most recently published National Standings List. (Seeds are placed in position based on the rules in the Friend at Court. All other players are placed randomly in draws.
16 draw limits for singles in all age groups (TD may increase the draw limit once permission is granted by the STATE OFFICE with proof of adequate number of courts available)
8 team draw limit for doubles in all age groups
SINGLES SCORE FORMAT
One standard tiebreak set to 6, 7-point tiebreak at 6 games all.

USTA REGULATIONS STATE THE FOLLOWING: A Player shall not enter two tournaments at the same time. When entries close, a player shall not be entered in two or more sanctioned tournaments, if any part of the tournaments overlap unless each Tournament Committee involved understands the situation and concurs in writing. After a player has been eliminated from a tournament whose schedule of play partially overlaps with that of a second tournament, the player may enter the second tournament. (USTA REGULATIONS IV.C. (Standards of Conduct),2021 Friend at Court, #s 12 through #17 apply). Penalty: (4) Suspension points to player in violation per offense, enforced by either Tournament Committee, and/or USTA Administration.
WAIVER! PARENTS/GUARDIANS MUST COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING STEPS, NO EXCEPTIONS! It is up to each Tournament Director to collect waivers for each player. The TD may elect to use Serve Tennis, Jotform, Match App or have on site printed.
PAYMENT! If a player has not submitted payment prior to the draw and match schedules being made, the Tournament Director has the right to withdraw the player.

A player must win a round to receive any Ranking Points for the tournament.
Players do not receive any points until they have won a round.
Byes do not qualify as wins.
Withdrawals and walkovers qualify as wins for the advancing player and earn Points Per Round, but do not earn Bonus Points.
Retirements qualify as wins for the advancing player and earn Points Per Round and, if applicable, Bonus Points.
A player who advances because of a default that takes place before the commencement of the first point in the match or because the opponent is disqualified shall receive Points Per Round for advancing but shall not receive any Bonus Points.
A player who advances because of a default that takes place after the commencement of the first point in the match shall receive Points Per Round for advancing and, if eligible, Bonus Points.
Best 6: This term refers to the number of singles tournaments and doubles tournaments that count for standing and ranking (effectively 12 total tournaments). A player may have more than 6 singles and 6 doubles tournaments on their player record, but only the results from the best 6 of each will be used in the PPR Calculation.
The PPR Calculation: National Standings Lists and Ranking Lists order players based on the following PPR calculation. This list is often called a “Combined List”.
